WATERBURY, CT (September 24, 2011) Post University let up three goals in the second half against Chestnut Hill Saturday afternoon in a 3-2 loss. Elin Nymanscored twice in defeat.
Post had a chance early in the first half off a Nyman pass that found Renel Denis ahead of the defense, but a nice save by Jessica Veazey kept it scoreless. The Eagles took the lead on a Nyman penalty shot at 37:33 and went into halftime ahead 1-0.
Nyman added another score very early in the second half on a lead pass fromSabrina Sinopoli. Veazey came out of the net and Nyman dribbled right past her for an easy goal. The Eagles were in good shape at 2-0.
Chestnut Hill struck right back on a goal from Marykate McShane at 56:52 to cut the Eagle lead to 2-1. The Griffins added a goal at 82:06 on a bending corner by Steph Litty to tie the game. Three minutes later, a foul on Post led to a Carly DiGiovanni penalty shot that put Chestnut Hill ahead for good.
Nyman has scored two goals in each of the last two games and has five on the season. Grace McConnell added eight saves.
The Eagles will return to action Wednesday night at home against Nyack.
